01.Overview & Developer Identity
Welcome to EQN Wifi (developed by Tạo Nguyễn Đình, hereinafter referred to as "we", "us", or "our"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data and device information you share with us.
This Privacy Policy applies to all services offered through our website application and our mobile applications available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. By downloading, accessing, or using EQN Wifi, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
02.Information We Collect
To provide you with accurate map features, nearby Wi-Fi network information, and sync capabilities, we collect the following categories of information:
- Location Information: Precise (GPS) and coarse (network-based) location coordinates when you grant location permissions.
- Wi-Fi & Access Point Details: Publicly available or user-submitted Wi-Fi SSIDs, BSSIDs, signal strengths, addresses, and optional passwords saved by you.
- Google Account & Drive Sync Data: If you choose to sync your saved Wi-Fi spreadsheets with Google Drive, we process OAuth access tokens to read/write files in your designated Google Drive folder.
- Technical & Device Data: Device hardware model, operating system version (iOS/Android), browser type, and app session diagnostic metrics.
03.Location Data & Permissions
Important Notice Regarding Location Access:
EQN Wifi accesses device location services solely to display your position on the map, show nearby Wi-Fi hotspots relative to your current location, and calculate directions. Location data is processed in real time and is never tracked in the background without your knowledge.
You can enable or disable location services at any time through your mobile device system settings (Settings > Privacy > Location Services on iOS, or Settings > Location on Android).
04.How We Use Your Data
We use the collected information for the following specific purposes:
Map & Wi-Fi Navigation
Centering the map, showing nearby coffee shops & Wi-Fi spots, providing directions to selected coordinates.
Data Synchronization
Syncing user Wi-Fi lists with Google Drive spreadsheets when authorized by the user.
Network Utility Tools
Providing diagnostic features such as password generation, certificate inspection, and Wake on LAN utilities.
App Maintenance & Quality
Diagnosing performance bugs, offline cache management, and improving app stability.
05.Data Sharing & Third-Party Disclosure
We may rely on trusted third-party service providers to render map tiles and cloud storage functions:
- OpenStreetMap & Map Tile Servers: Used to fetch map tiles. Map requests send standard IP and user-agent headers required for HTTP requests.
- Google Drive API Services: Used strictly for reading and updating designated spreadsheets when you explicitly initiate cloud sync.
06.Data Security & Local Storage
Your saved Wi-Fi spots and preferences are stored locally on your device using client-side IndexedDB and LocalStorage. When syncing with Google Drive, data is stored inside your own personal Google Drive account under your control.
We implement standard encryption protocols (HTTPS/TLS) for data in transit and adhere to mobile platform security best practices mandated by Google Play and Apple iOS security standards.
07.User Data Deletion & Rights (Google Play Requirement)
In accordance with Google Play Console policies, Apple App Store Store guidelines, GDPR, and CCPA, you have full control over your data:
How to Delete Your Data:
- Clear Local App Storage:Open the app, go to Settings > Storage > "Clear Cache & Saved Data", or uninstall the application from your device to permanently remove locally stored data.
- Revoke Google Drive Permissions: Access your Google Account permissions page (myaccount.google.com/permissions) and remove access for EQN Wifi to disconnect Google Drive sync.
- Request Account / Data Deletion: If you wish to request full deletion of any submitted records, send an email to ndtao2020@gmail.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request - EQN Wifi". We will process your request within 7 business days.
08.Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
EQN Wifi is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately so we can take steps to remove such information.
